It's hard to believe it is baseball season again....especially when we just got a big snow storm today....UGGGHH! Ashlyn was all smiles on Saturday when she got to go to her first "tryouts" for baseball. It kind of made me laugh a little to have tryouts for seven-year-old kids....what exactly are the coaches looking for? I don't think you can tell any future major leaguers at this age....can you? :) This is Ashlyn's fourth year of playing baseball and each year the number of girls in her age group diminish. I keep thinking she may lose interest as she gets older and is the only girl playing with all the boys on the team....but she doesn't seem to mind being one of the only girls.....so, I say "play on"! Roughly 200 kids were at the tryouts, so about 800 pitches and 400 hits later....she was "drafted" to the Rangers team. We will update again when she actually starts playing.
