Fruits of Our Labor

Tonight I was weeding our garden. Our zucchini plants have gotten gigantic so somehow we missed this bad boy hiding under some of the leaves. A seven-pounder zucchini....the size of a newborn baby. Ashlyn had a good laugh about it and she wanted me to post a picture of her holding it to show you how big it is......

Catch Up

So....I have been a horrible blogger lately. I could blame it on the summer or the kids or something...but the truth is I have motivational spurts when it comes to blogging. I guess that is why in my journal growing up I only have yearly entries. But stay with me and come along and catch up on our summer! I have a few new posts of some of the highlights of our summer....it is sad to see it come to an end. Back to school posts coming soon....I promise! :)

New Photographer in Town

My sister, Tonya, has started her own photography business. I have her button on my sidebar so check her out! She is doing awesome and took some really cute pictures of my kids for me. These are just a few of my favorites. Thanks Ton!

Summer Fun

My sister knows how to throw a party. For her little boy's, Ryan, 8th birthday party she rented a dunking booth and a snowcone machine. Ashlyn had a blast. My sister got some really cute pics of her so I had to share. Ashlyn was the only girl.....but I don't think she noticed too much, my sister said she had the best arm out of all of them. :)

Lava Hot Springs

While we were in Idaho for the 4th of July, we went to Lava Hot Springs with my sister and her family. I didn't take a lot of pictures that day, I was enjoying the shade and talking with my sis and letting Chad take care of the kids. :) I did snap a couple of the kids speeding down the slides though....5 hours of fun....kids could play forever.....I wish I had that energy.

Fireworks and Fun

This year we spent the 4th of July up in Idaho. We started with the parade in the morning....this was more for the kids, I am not a big fan of parades (I know....party pooper). You've seen one tractor, you've seen them all, right? :) We grabbed a pizza for lunch and then we headed to a hotel in Idaho Falls. Chad's mom had given us tickets for the dinner/fireworks show that they put on every year by the river. It is a really good firework show and definately an event for the town so it was nice to have VIP reserved seating for the show and not fight the crowds in the park! The kids and Chad went swimming in the pool for a bit then we got ready and headed to enjoy dinner and the show. Ethan cried for the first part of the fireworks because of the noise, but then he ended up liking them. That seems to be a reoccuring event in his life....he needs to toughen up a bit so he isn't teased when he grows up! :)

Parade of Stars

The neighborhood parade is always something that the kids look forward to. Decorating the "cadillac" this year, they thought they were definately riding in style.....

Zoo Day

The zoo is always a fun little excursion. The kids love the animals and it is always nice to just get out and walk! This day that we went was perfect. A tiny bit of rain but other than that....perfect. Since it was nice and cool, the tiger was roaming around up-close because he didn't have to keep under the shade to keep cool....we don't usually see him that close so the kids thought that was great. It was double the fun because their cousins from Idaho and Grandma got to come with us! Ethan isn't in the picture with all of them because he was scared of the giant elephant that made noises....silly boy. :)
