Ashlyn was given the "Builder of the Month" award at her school today. Her school has a theme, "Be a Builder". They are supposed to demonstrate different ways to "build" each other up and their communities. Her teacher picked her for her first grade class and she was pretty excited about it. Her teacher called me last night so Chad and I could go to the assembly to watch her get her certificate and pin. She didn't find out until they called her name at the assembly and she couldn't wipe the smile off of her face. I think she was happy that Chad was there too....even though he had to sacrifice his golf game. :) At the beginning of the assembly they say the pledge of allegiance and sing the National Anthem....both verses. Lets just say "I am not smarter than a first grader".....does anyone else know the second verse of the National Anthem? That is going on the list of things I need to learn! Ashlyn is doing great in school and we are so proud of her!
