A couple of weeks ago we took a trip to Lake Powell. It was a lot of fun! Our friends invited us to go with them on a houseboat....which is definitely the way to go when you visit Lake Powell. The last time I went was in high school, so it had been a while....ok, quite a while! Let's just say the last experience of camping on the sand and using a small "squat" potty was completely different.....I was grateful for a flushing toilet, air conditioning, a kitchen, and much more this time around! Chad had never been before so he was pretty excited. We left Ethan with Grandma Cathy where we knew he would be in good hands and spoiled all week long.....he even wasn't sure if he wanted to come back home as he said "no-no" and pushed me away when we came back home to pick him up! We know all the grandkids love Grandma's house because the word "no" never exists and she lets them get away with anything they want.
Our skills out on the water were the least impressive out of the whole trip....we won't be jumping any wakes anytime soon. I tried wake boarding and skiing a few times and couldn't even pull myself up out of the water! Chad was good enough to at least pull himself up on the wake board, but crashed shortly after. The second day of the trip Chad had quite the tumble off of a tube ride and injured his rib....he was out of commission the rest of the trip. Although we are old and pathetic at water sports, we still had a blast with good company and enjoyed boating, the card games, and the beautiful scenery! Ashlyn was able to pull herself up on skis for a couple of seconds (it shows in the video) and made some cute new friends on the houseboat. I wasn't great at taking too many pictures (some on purpose...like me in a swimsuit), but here are a few that I snapped, along with some videos.......

Oh, that looks like so much fun. I really miss Lake Powell. I used to go quite a bit when I lived in Utah...fun times. Sorry about Chadd's rib...I hope he is feeling better. Has Ashlyn started school yet? Makenna started this week. Hope all is well!
