After a long wait from last year's baseball season ending, Ashlyn finally had her first baseball game tonight. She couldn't wipe the smile off of her face as she approached the field for the game. She was pretty proud that she was old enough to play on a real baseball diamond this year and not a tee-ball grass field. This year is a little different because instead of her coach pitching it is machine pitch....but Ashlyn hit both times up at bat and the second time she got to second base. She told me after the game she didn't know why they told her to go ahead and run to second base when she had just barely gotten to first base....apparently the first two years of tee-ball didn't quite instill all the basic rules of the game....she makes me laugh. She is getting pretty good at hitting after two years of tee-ball. We let her choose where to go for dinner afterwards and she told us that she wanted to go to Training Table. At dinner she said, "This was the best game ever, we all got to go to my baseball game and I got to pick where to eat for dinner......", it is funny that kids are happy with just the simple things! One last thing I should mention, Chad was the one who tucked her jersey in before the game so that explains why her britches are in a bunch and twisted halfway around in the pictures....:)
