Leprechauns and the Tooth Fairy

Ashlyn has had a full week so far with imaginary friends. She awoke on Monday to find a pile of gold on her dresser left by the leprechauns and was excited to wear her St. Paddy's day shirt for the day. But the smile didn't last all day......while she was in the bath we heard her start crying hysterically and she cried, "Mom, hurry come quick!" So I ran upstairs and found blood on her lip....from her cry you would have thought she had severed a limb. She had been wiggling her loose tooth and the back part of the tooth got wedged onto the permanent tooth next to it. Needless to say, she couldn't close her mouth and she saw the blood, hence the state of emergency! I had to wiggle it pretty good to finally get it out. I have never really heard the sounds of an animal dying, but I am guessing it would sound pretty close to Ashlyn's moans and crys. It finally came out and once I got the bleeding stopped it was happy days are here again! I got a picture of the aftermath and thought I would share....it sounds pretty similar to the experience that Brett and Angie had with Ellie....what is it with bathtubs and loosing teeth?!

You can even see her leftovers from Grandma's famous chocolate cupcake she enjoyed before the emergency extraction! And lets just say, I think we will be investing in braces in the future.

This will be a busy week with Leprechauns, tooth fairy's and the easter bunny! Bjorn thought it was pretty cool that Ashlyn lost a tooth. At first he said "Ashlyn sad", but we explained that it was a good thing, so he was happy!

I'm glad everything was happy in the end. How funny! I'm not looking forward to tooth extraction. :)
